PLAINFIELD, IL — A badly deteriorated at-grade railroad crossing in downtown Plainfield is going to be repaired, village officials said Wednesday.
The Illinois Department of Transportation will work with Wisconsin Central Limited to repair the crossing on Lockport Street west of Main Street.
In light of the construction, Lockport Street will be fully closed to through traffic at the WCL tracks, near Wood Farm Road, beginning at 9 a.m. June 3. If the weather cooperates, the work should be finished on or before 7 a.m. June 10, Community Relations Director Amy De Boni told Patch.
