Dept. of Transportation to begin work on Dorchester Co. trail

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – The South Carolina Department of Transportation on Monday will begin the rebuilding process of a Dorchester County trail.

The trail, that runs between Luden Drive and the Elizabeth Street trailhead, will be split into three stages for the reconstruction.
Stage one of the construction is expected to last four weeks and will focus on the area between the Elizabeth Street trailhead and the Willet Drive pedestrian bridge.
During each stage of construction, pedestrians and cyclists using the trail will be routed onto portions of the new roadway that aren’t open for vehicular traffic.
