United Airlines: ‘Body was found in the wheel well’
KAHULUI, Hawaii (KHON2) — Hawaii Department of Transportation officials confirmed a deceased body was found on a United Airlines flight on Tuesday, Dec. 24.

The flight arrived on the Valley Isle from Chicago.
“Upon arrival at Kahului airport in Maui on Tuesday, a body was found in the wheel well of one of the main landing gears on a United aircraft,” United Airlines said in a statement.

The aircraft was a Boeing 787-10.
“The wheel well was only accessible from outside of the aircraft. At this time, it is not clear how or when the person accessed the wheel well.”
Maui police have launched an active investigation and United said they are working with local law enforcement.
