(WISDOT NEWS RELEASE) &#8211; The Wisconsin Department of Transportation warns motorists today that the warmer temperatures forecast for Wisconsin over the next several days could create conditions for pavement buckling.<br \/>\nA news release from WisDOT explains that pavement can buckle when the weather quickly goes from cool to very hot. This causes slabs of pavement to expand and push against one another. When the pressure becomes enough, the pavement can buckle. This creates unexpected bumps and dips in the roadway.<br \/>\nWisDOT offers the following tips to stay safe on the roads this summer:<br \/>\nSlow down, buckle up and focus your full attention on the roadway.<br \/>\nWatch for slowing traffic and be ready to move over for all roadside workers, including highway crews as they repair damaged pavement.<br \/>\nCheck the 511 Travel Information system ( 511wi.gov ) for the latest on any incidents or delays.<br \/>\nReport serious pavement issues by calling 911.
