The Boston Celtics will wrap up their three-game road trip against the team with the NBA’s best record, the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder.
It’s the first meeting between the C’s and Thunder this season. Boston hopes to bounce back from Tuesday’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs, while OKC aims to extend its win streak to seven games.
The Celtics will be short-handed for the marquee matchup as superstar Jayson Tatum has been ruled out due to Achilles repair reconditioning. The good news for Boston is Payton Pritchard (neck) is available after initially being listed as questionable on the injury report.
Thursday’s showdown will feature two NBA MVP candidates: Jaylen Brown for the C’s and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for the Thunder. Gilgeous-Alexander is currently the heavy favorite to win the award.
