Ivanna Ortiz, the 35-year-old woman who has been booked for attempted murder in connection with the shooting at Rihanna’s Los Angeles home on Sunday, shared a video on YouTube two months ago, where she made multiple references to the singer.
“Listen, Rihanna, when you die, God is taking me to my future. You want to kill me?” she says in the video before saying, “Yeah, she’s a witch.”
Newsweek reached out to representatives for Rihanna via email for comment.
The Context
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told Newsweek on Monday that Ortiz had been booked for attempted murder. According to the spokesperson, a weapon was recovered, and the LAPD Robbery Homicide Division is investigating.
Ortiz is being held on a $10.225 million bail, according to inmate records at the Los Angeles County Jail. A motive has not yet been determined.
Ortiz allegedly fired approximately 10 shots at Rihanna’s home from inside a white Tesla Sunday afternoon, striking the property multiple times, the LAPD said. She was arrested about 30 minutes later, and a motive has not yet been determined.
