The Day of the Jackal (2024) season 1’s thrilling finale wrapped up a lot of the plot from the season, while laying a foundation for the already greenlit season 2. However, the reason Jackal was coming home at all was to collect his wife, Nuria, and their son. Jackal promised that after this job, he would step away from the assassin’s life, and take Nuria anywhere in the world. Nuria initially wanted to stay in their beautiful home in Spain, near her mother and brother, but when Jackal calls, she hears the panic in his voice. They are no longer safe in their home, which likely means everyone close to her is safe.
Nuria does love her husband, but after the bombshell that Charles was never who he said he was, and that was not even his name, she decided to cut ties and protect her son. She took emergency funds from his secret safe room, and rushed to the airport before her husband returned. Despite her affection, the trust is gone, and her son’s safety had to come first.

Bianca Pullman quit her position after being told to back down from the Jackal case. After dedicating her life to this mission, to the point where her home life was in ruins, she was told to just stop. Then, she was threatened that if she continued, her position would be removed. However, being headstrong and stubborn, Bianca opted to quit before they could send her away, and try to repair her home life.

She left for Spain, attempting to chase her last lead, and it led her right to the Jackal’s doorstep. After staking out the home, watching Nuria leave with her son, and finally spotting the Jackal arriving, she enters the house to capture and confront him. However, the Jackal had the upper hand in his secure home, and he killed Bianca quickly as she stood in his home.

Just how secure the Jackal’s identity is after all of these events is unclear. Bianca raised her theory about him being in Spain to her boss, who was then revealed to be working under the billionaire’s authority. But, when she sent Bianca to finish off the Jackal, she told her to do so off the books. This means the trail may go cold. However, there is a question about Bianca’s body being left in his home. The Jackal was not usually so sloppy, and he may have burned the place down, but as the season neared its end, he took more risks and became reckless in an effort to move quickly.
Just how secure the Jackal’s identity is after all of these events is unclear.
While his name and face may still be a mystery, there are more connections to the Jackal than ever before, and the billionaires or MI6 may have a very solid idea of who he is. In addition, MI6 interrogated people in the small community in Cadiz, Spain, where he lived. They knew him under a different name, and now death and trouble came to their community. One potential leak for information is also Nuria’s brother, who believes Charles to be the Jackal, and has access to pictures of the man.

The Day of the Jackal season 1 wraps up a lot of details, with the true allegiance of MI6 higher ups being revealed, UDC being killed, and the Jackal surviving, but there is a lot more story to be told. The Jackal is now seeking to find his wife and child, and he has recruited Zina, the woman who acted as the go-between for him and the billionaires, to help find them. Zina is also being hunted, and so the benefit from working together.
